Hot July savings on Lexus F-Sport accessories |
|
Jun 26, 2009 - 3:41 PM - by Flipside909
|
If you've been considering upgrading or personalizing your IS 250 or IS 350 with official F-Sport Accessories, Lexus is now making temptation harder than ever to resist. In advance of imminent expansions of the line for the IS C and GS models, Lexus will, during the entire month of July, offer a significant 20% Discount off the purchase of any item(s) in the F-Sport Accessory line, simply by presenting the Discount Coupon that appears at the end of this story.
The discount is valid whether the accessories in question are purchased installed at the port (before the car's arrival at the dealer), over-the-counter at a dealer's Parts Department for self-installation or at a dealer for installation by their Service Department. In the latter case, though, it must be noted that the 20% discount applies strictly to the cost of the parts themselves, and not to labor costs for installation. Also, as the coupon notes, this offer is good only in the "49 continental United States" (the lower 48 plus Alaska), and, thus, specifically excludes Hawaii, Canada and other Lexus markets. Finally, if you really want to load up on F-Sport Accessories, please note that the Discount Coupon is good up to $2000 off (on a $10,000 purchase). And, in a... [Read More]

Lexus Planning Sporty LS460 SZ |
|
Jun 24, 2009 - 8:33 PM - by Administrator
|
According to a recent report in Japan's Best Car magazine, Lexus is planning a sport version of its flagship LS sedan. The LS460 SZ, as it is to be called, will get a stylish new aero kit with a new front and rear bumper, new side skirts and a dark black chrome grille.
The SZ badge, rather than an "F" badge indicates that this is not a high performance model, so don't look for any big power upgrades. Still, drivers are sure to appreciate an upgraded Brembo braking system and a new set of BBS wheels.
According to 4WheelsNews the price works out to $94,425, but Lexus hasn't officially admitted the LS460 SZ is coming.

Shoichiro Toyoda Lashes Out at Toyota Execs |
|
Jun 22, 2009 - 6:25 PM - by Administrator
|
One of the last things Shoichiro Toyoda did as honorary chairman at Toyota Motor Corp., was to assemble all of the company's executives and give them a tongue lashing. Toyoda even called out president Katsuaki Watanabe and blamed those in charge of the Japanese automaker for leaving behind the company's long-standing business practices to chase the quick-buck. He said they followed the lead of now-bankrupt automakers like GM and Chrysler, a path that has put the company in a serious financial bind.
While Toyota has posted significant profits for years, last year it posted a $4.5 billion loss and expects to lose even more ($5.7 billion) next year.
Toyota has always been known for building economical cars and for using a business practice called kaizen, where small improvements are constantly made to improve products. It is expected that Akio Toyoda (pictured above), the new Toyota president and grandson to the company’s founder, will once again begin to return the company to an economically-minded, slow growth corporation. Akio will officially take over the Toyota helm tomorrow.
Industry experts also believe that in order for Toyota to stay on top it must not only move away from luxury cars and large trucks, but it must also look outside the United States... [Read More]
